Eye Care Vitamins

Perhaps at no other time in our history have people been so interested in finding the best eye vitamins and nutritional supplements online, for both adults and kids or children, and for all sorts of conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration, floaters, eye strain, and excess screen time. That’s because increasingly, many people find their vision declining, especially with the Average American using a digital screen for 8-10 hours/day, including children and teenagers. In addition, with the growth of e-commerce and online shopping, more and more people are purchasing goods online instead of in the store. Visit our homepage to learn more.

In today’s world, instead of relying on outdated treatments and supplements, many people are taking charge of their own ocular health, and educating themselves. One of the easiest ways to take charge of your own health is by eating a good diet, full of green leafy vegetables like spinach, kale, collard greens, and broccoli. However, if you’re like most people, you may find this difficult to do consistently.

Eye Care Vitamins and Supplements

That’s where another easy solution comes in: supplements. These days, the vitamin and supplement industry is a $37 billion dollar industry. And for good reason: most Americans are eager to improve their overall health and wellness. Researchers have been studying the effects of various nutritional supplements on different parts of the body for years. However, there is conflicting information about which ones to take, and which ones are safe to be purchased online. One of the areas where there is the most conflicting, confusing information is around ocular supplements. In this article, we will help remove that confusion and help you learn what vitamins can be good for your eyesight.

In the last 20 years, researchers have discovered know that eating a diet full of leafy green vegetables and taking certain proven vision supplements, such as omega fatty acids, can help prevent major issues with your vision, such as macular degeneration, dry eye, and eye strain. You may not know what macular degeneration is, but you should be aware that this disease affects over 16 million Americans. In fact, macular degeneration is the primary reason people over 50 lose their vision.

Usually, macular degeneration doesn’t happen quickly. It is a usually slow, progressive condition. Macular degeneration typically, it affects your central vision, which means that you can slowly lose the ability to drive, to read, and to work on the computer.

However, what most people don’t know is that a healthy diet is NOT enough when it comes to protecting the macula and preventing degeneration.

That’s because the average diet only contains small amounts of the vision specific nutrients lutein and zeaxanthin. These are the essential ingredients that are taken up by the macula and help protect and strengthen the macula. The only problem is, you’d have to eat about 50 carrots a day, or 5 pounds of spinach to get the same amount that was used in clinical trials on macular degeneration! That’s simply not practical for most people, and that's why many people turn to eye supplements.

In the past, people would rely on their pharmacist or doctor to tell them which ones to take, because it’s sometimes difficult to just go online and find the best ones. How do we know which ones to trust? How can you be sure that you are getting the best ingredients without a lot of fillers or incorrect dosages? At eyetamins™, we understand this frustration, and that's why we created our own, trusted, doctor-formulated products that can be easily obtained online. In addition, we are in the business of educating people on how to navigate the system, so they can decide for themselves and choose the best vitamins for eyesight improvement, for both adults and children.

Best Vitamins For Eye Health

Researchers have been studying the effects of vitamins on age related ocular diseases, such as macular degeneration and dry eye for quite some time. The researchers were funded through the National Institutes of Health, conducted the Age-Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS). The researchers developed a list of vitamins they thought would help people who had ocular diseases that were age related. During their study, the researchers found that a combination of those were able to slow the progression of age-related vision-disease by 25%. A similar study done in 2013 was an expansion of the first study. It modified and added what is needed for retinal health.

Both studies showed that a combination of Copper, Lutein, Vitamins C and E, Zeaxanthin, and Zinc benefit the retina, which is the light-sensing tissue we all have. This is important, because the retina has very specialized cells. These cells, called photoreceptors, are some of the most complicated cells inthe body. They work to transfer light signals from your retina into nerve signals for your brain and optic nerve. All of these cells are vital to producing clear vision. Because the photoreceptors are constantly at work, they give off waste products.

Studies have shown that these waste products can build up and cause something called drusen, which is a sign of degeneration in older adults. By taking the right, high quality eyecare supplements, you allow antioxidants to clear away the waste products and make your vision as clear as possible.

All of the vitamins mentioned above have unique properties on their own. Vitamin C is vital for all of the cells in your body, not just your visual system. Vitamin C allows your blood vessels, including those vessels in your retina, to stay healthy. Vitamin E has been shown to prevent or delay age-related disease of the ocular system. It may also lower your chances of getting cataracts. In addition, many of these ingredients have been shown to reduce eye strain. In addition, lutein and zeaxanthin have been shown to support visual and cognitive development in children, kids, and teenagers.

Lutein and zeaxanthin are relatively new entries on the vitamin scene. Both of these antioxidants are found in nature, but in very small doses. They work together to do two amazing things. First, they fight the buildup of waste products, which makes your vision clearer. They also work to filter out any excess blue wavelength light that can damage your photoreceptors. Both lutein and zeaxanthin are not produced by your body, so you must take them as part of your diet or in a supplement. It is very difficult to eat enough fruits and veggies to get lutein and zeaxanthin from your diet.

At this point, the main question people have is, where can I get them? If you are at this stage, there are several things you need to consider. First, you need to make sure that you choose a reputable brand. In general, it's best to choose a brand that is doctor approved, or better yet, that is actually formulated by a board-certified physician who specializes in eye diseases and eye surgery (ophthalmologist).

Next, you want to check the ingredients to make sure they are as natural as possible. Look for those that are dairy-free, gluten-free, vegan, all-natural, organic, soy-free and non-GMO. Finally, make sure the brand and formula you selected has all of the nutrition you need in the right dosages. This means that the dosages need to be consistent with clinical studies, and should not contain any unnecessary or unproven ingredients.

As you can see, supplements for your eyes or for your kids are important, but with so many choices out there, it can be hard to filter through all of them and make the right choice. That's why at eyetamins™, we've done all the work for you. Our mission is to bring you the best eye vitamins for your health online.

In summary, our vision is our most important sense. Without it, there is very little we can do in the world. It makes sense to do everything we can to protect it and nourish it. There are many different products online and it can be hard to navigate the system, but armed with the information in this article, we hope you will be able to make the right decisions for your health.
